All right, I'm not going into detail about how much freaking work that was, but the forums are up and working for now (you might see some error, and that means my host reset the permissions on a certain folder ... I'll be talking to my host about that). Feel free to register, although there are no real categories set up. You can post to your heart's content, but I don't want any really bad stuff. There are not rules yet, but don't be overly stupid. I have new fun Admin options and I'm dying to use them.
Also, use this link to the forums, since it works better than the crap-tastic link on the side. It's also more friendly for Firefox users.

Note that this was posted just past midnight of Saturday morning. Okay, so I called my host's Tech Support, and they said we have everything we need for everything forum-wise. So I went to InvisionBoard.com and paid for the whole shebang (that's actually in spellcheck) ... and I got this message:
"Your payment has been received and will be processed shortly. To prevent fraud, we manually review all orders. If you do not receive confirmation of your order being processed in 24 hours or less, please contact us."
That was about four hours ago ... so the forums are coming ... just, uh, as soon as they can prove that I'm worthy of their forums, I guess. I mean, that candy I stole from that baby a few years back might put a damper on the whole deal, but they just might realize that I'm giving them money and give me my damn forums! So be patient another 24 hours. Sorry for others' incompetence.

You ever see those daredevils who tempt dangerous animals, like alligators? Well, I'm kinda about to do that ... only, with my viewers. Due to the financial disaster called my car, the cost of repairs exceeded $700, and that was just to pass Safety Inspection (it'll cost more to pass Emissions), but I have two full months to worry about that (March 31 is my deadline). So what's the danger? The forums will not be up February 2. Don't kill me just yet, because after depositing my paychecks (yes, I'll receive two), I can have the forums up the night of February 9. And not just regular, trial version crap ... but registered AND with two wonderful surprises. Yeah, I've been promising one surprise with the forums before, but now there's TWO! And I'm promising them, even though I am deathly afraid of the havoc that will be wrought on there. So please bear with us for one more week.

Holy f*ck! An actual update! OMG! Yeah, sorry about the long hiatus. Lots of things went down, but times are looking up. The site isn't going to be handed over (sorry for those who were looking forward to that), so I'll continue "working on the site". Long-time fans, or anyone who scrolls down to see the time difference between updates should know what this means. I'll do better once the forums are back, trust me. What? Forums? Wasn't I supposed to do something about them? Well, the bills are all caught up, but before I dropped the $150+ for them, someone E-Mailed me saying he might be the solution to whatever screwed them up in the first place. Not that I don't trust him (hey, I gave him Admin access to them), but I'll give him until February ... 2? Sound good? If he gets them fixed, we'll stick with them until I get sick of having free forums that might go ballistic again. Money's not an issue to me (that's right, I can proudly say that now), so whoever complains the most will either get their way, or just get ignored. Depends how much I like you (hint: I'm biased towards cute girls, heh heh).
Oh yeah, I told you not to vote before reading this. So, here's why: If magic-man can get the old forums up and running, all the old posts (the forums went down March 6, 2005 ... so those posts are almost all two years old) are still floating around. Do you want them to stay, or just purge the whole thing and start from 0? Or do you not care, and just want them up ASAP? Of course, regardless of what happens with the old forums, there's a LOT I want to do with them. Stuff that may require me to get the full version. Again, money's not an issue ... so why not drop by http://www.InvisionBoard.com/ and see what b*tchin' features the full version has. One last question to ponder over: "Pimp my site?"

We're not dead, really! In fact, we're putting together a new crew. There's a new poll up to see what you guys want the most (although the forums will still go up in a couple of months, so I hope everyone doesn't just vote on that). Back on subject, I'm in the process of handing the site over to someone who still hasn't written an update. But we're looking for more people to help out. We'd prefer those with at least some HTML/CSS knowledge, or at least people who are willing to learn. We'd also like those who have some artistic ability (either hand-drawn or computer-generated) and some knowledge with Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. It would be nice to have someone who knows some Shoujo Anime we don't (like Fushigi Yuugi or Gravitation).
We're not really picky, and we could use all the help anyone's willing to give, so if you feel up to the task, either IM me on AIM at Gammler or E-Mail us at AnimeDatabase@hotmail.com.

Slow progress is being made on the new format. Removed the Manga that never got updated. I might end up removing the Eva parody if we need the space, so download it while you can. I had a request for the two openings to Full Metal Alchemist, but I only had the first one, "Ready Steady Go" which is now up. And despite the lack of updates, AnimeDat's ranking is slowly going up. I'll try putting together a page for those interested to look at.

Quick recap: Computer died (refused to boot). Took a good month or so to get it fixed. Have a full-time job, but nothing else so lots of free time. We've picked back up on making a new (hopefully better) format. Yet another new poll above. Bills should be gone by 2007, so money can be spent here (but I'm making no promises). For those who care, sorry it's been a little over a week since the last update. There's not really anything new to mention, but I'm working on reformatting the Cowboy Bebop section (not that it'll look any different to you viewers, but it'll be better set up for the new format stuff I want to do later). I'm more than halfway done with it and should have it completely done this Friday.
I've also switched the poll. Nothing too important, just for me to get an idea on how you want this site to look.
