Thurdsday:

There have been some bold, great new strides in the name of AnimeDatabase recently. Just today, I've uploaded a new Anime section for your viewing pleasure - Cowboy Bebop (see bar at left). I don't have a whole lot to say about it other than that it took me quite a while to make, and that I hope you like it.
I also promised The Jazz Messenenger that I'd link to their wonderful Cowboy Bebop site. They were really helpful by allowing me to use some of the pictures from their gallery. It is a very high quality site, so if you like the Cowboy Bebop section (or even if you don't), visit there for more.

Well, I tried making a the site a little better for 800x600 users but I thought the new left navigation looked ugly and I'm glad the voters agreed with me. The current one is my favorite now. The background image isn't as pretty, but it's smaller and will load faster and it's easier to see everything that's there now.
On another note, the FORUMS SECTION is doing well. For those who don't know, a forum is a messageboard more or less. I think it'd be even better with more people on it, of course, but it's all really up to the enthusiam of you guys. I've noticed a recent increase in the Jukebox usage. you guys love it, don't you?!

- We have a Jukebox?! -
Wednesday:
7·16·03 1:45AM
Phew, a lot has happened since I last updated the main page. We lost our second account with all the manga hosted there, that kinda sucked, ok it sucked really bad. But right now you can dl Video Girl Ai straight from my comp. I'm not sure how fast you'll get, but give it a shot if you want it. I just realized that not many people know about our Jukebox player. We have a Jukebox player that plays anime midis. I actually listen to it from time to time and then I realized 'I bet no one on our site realize we have this great thing'. So check it out! I command thee.
I also recieved the next comic page from the artist. He promises me they'll be coming faster so I thought everyone should give that a look too. The plot is great ('cuz I made it) and the art is great ('cuz Nick is a good artist). If you think it sucks, post something on our forums/messageboard. Yea, go there too. Visit everything on this site, you won't regret it, we even have pictures of ourselves and lightsaber battles somewhere in this site...

- New Section, New Content -
Monday:
6·30·03 10:32PM
Okay, there's been some pretty big stuff added to the site. Adoogen just recently finished his Slayers section which has an organized image gallery, music, hard-to-find information, wallpapers, and more. Be sure to check it out. Also, I've been slowly adding more Cosplay reviews (now amounting to 5 since I last mentioned it), and am currently working on compiling a Cowboy Bebop section to add to our resivoir. I'm working slowly, but it'll get done - you can count on it.

Okay, just some quick stuff in regards to the new forums. As you can tell if you've actually checked into them, I'm a pretty active poster. I make it my firm and constant vow to personally reply to any new topics that sprout up. Depending on the subject, I may just come in and ancknowledge that it's there, but I'll reply in some way. Also, if you make frequent posts, then you can "Private Message" me (or just make a post about it) about a new title that you want. They all start out as Newbie, but we can change it to anything I deem appropriate. Really though, be sure to check into the forums - they're a great means to get in contact with us.

- Back & FORUMS -
Sunday:

I'm back from Belize now, good country, hella heat and humidity but I survived somehow so nobody start worrying for me (though I'm burnt all over and Aloe is my only friend now). Anyways, I uploaded the manga and I'm taking down those sad excuses for messageboards on the right hand side of this site. Instead we have the forums on the left that I'm gunna bold after this update. Please check them out, maybe register for free *shrugs* voice your opinion. Props go out to Gammler for setting it all up.

Yeah, that's right check out that time of update! And the sad thing about it is this is the most exciting thing I've done and will probably do for the next few days! (Sigh) Alright, not that sad, but not to cool either. Anywho, on to the point of this little blerb of English. I wanted to start and make semi-regular updates letting you (our viewers) in on the little things that are in the works. 'Course I won't say everything, 'cause it needs to be a surprise. Okay, now for the new things coming: That Nadesico section I promised last update will probably be started as soon as Adoogen gets back from his vacation. Also, I'll be updating the Lodoss section with character bios and the series difs. Plus, a few (and I mean few) alterations for Silent Mobius. Along with another brand new section, but like I said the whole "surprise" thing. Right that's all I got for now. Well, aside from the schedule, which I am obviously having issues trying to keep up with. But, and, however, thus, in conclusion, and along with...I'm done.

Alrighty short update, and it's only to say I've started back up with the schedule. Well, mostly anywho, I'm also currently going over Silent Mobius and Lodoss sections so I can see what I can add to them. Also in the works is a possible Nadesico section that Adoogen and I will be heading up. Wish us luck and keep coming back to see whatever it is you tend to.

- Eva Live-action Movie -
Wednesday:
5·21·03 8:15PM
Just an interesting tidbit for all those NEON GENESIS EVANGELION fans. There will be a Live-action Eva movie. Here's the official article:
CANNES, FRANCE, 19 May 2003—In an announcement sure to make waves in the entertainment industry, ADV Films President and CEO John Ledford today publicly confirmed industry rumors that the firm has acquired the rights to produce, and has already begun development of, a live-action feature-film based on the Japanese animated television series “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” a multi-million dollar worldwide franchise and perhaps the most influential anime title in the history of the art form. The project is a collaboration between ADV Films, Gainax and Weta Workshop, Ltd.
Just for all of those who dunno Weta Workshop, Ltd., it's a special effects group that did a little movie called Lord of the Rings. My thoughts on this. Dunno. If it's made to release in America, it most likely will suck. But then I have to admit America is the best at making Live-action movies. Look at the original movie of The Ring compared to the American version. The American one was much better. So this is just one we'll have to sit back and see. Asuka better kick ass.

- New Layout -
Monday:
5·19·03 10:31PM
Okay, lots of major stuff going on around Anime Database. As you can tell, we updated the site with a slightly new layout to implement the avatars. Now it's just that much easier to distinguish who's posting what and when.
Also, as you can tell from the fact that I'm even posting this, we survived the trip to ACEN - and had a blast there as well. We took plenty of cosplay pictures while we were there (most of the top-of-the-line ones) and as soon as those get developed and sent to me, I'll start working on reviewing them. Also, in case you didn't realize before - I added 2 new movies to the reviews section: Grave of the Fireflies and Miyuki-chan in Wonderland.
Pretty soon we should be getting a new forum system set up where you can get your own avatar and chat directly with us and stuff. It should be pretty neat.
Finally, we've been discussing starting a really huge weekly-updated project that may or may not appear on the site in the near future. It's a pretty vast undertaking, so I'm not sure we'll be able to do it yet. I'm not going to give away too much. Until then, keep checking back for new updates - there's a lot going on.
