Spirit of Discord:
Ah, for once a review I don't have to put any ammount of thought or text into. Sorcerer Hunters is a simple show, funny, but not much else. The plot revolves around Carrot Glace, a womanizing idiot with a sword that never sees much use, and his companions, the Sorcerer Hunters, who, for unknown reasons, all have strange affections for Carrot.

However, despite the fact that half the cast spends half the show swooning over Carrot, the relationships between the cast, and the characters themselves, are remarkably shallow. There's little to no development to either in the entire show. The cast never fails to be entertaining, but they're too shallow and static. The fact that they're likable and somewhat creative makes that all the more sad, because they really could have brought this show up to way above the 3/5 it's getting now.

The plot seems to start in the middle and just run from there, but since it's not complex by any sense of the word, nobody should have any trouble picking it up. While it's not deep, Sorcerer Hunters is funny. Sex jokes are common, but the show is usually fairly clean as far as nudity goes. Most of the humor comes from the strange and interesting situations the characters get themselves into. Their episodic misadventures range from commonplace villain hunting, to bizarre mystery stories, and include more than a few encounters with evil sorcerers who are sometimes mad, sometimes just confused, often entertaining, and always defeated far too easily.

Almost forgot to mention that, didn't I? One would expect a title like Sorcerer Hunters to have quite a bit of combat, wouldn't one? Well, there is a good amount…most of it with whips. However, there's TONS of stock footage and cheap animation. Even the final battles aren't that well done. The artwork, however, is usually nice, which is good since the show does have a decent amount of fan-service. Not so much that it gets in the way of the show, but enough to be enjoyed by… people who enjoy that….which clearly doesn't include me (innocent whistle)………………….. Moving on.

Anyway, I enjoyed the show for it's humor, but it hasn't got anything else to offer. The characters are cool, but the writers didn't take enough time to develop them and their relationships. The plot is very lackluster, and almost non-existent in the first half of the show. It might have been great with some character development, but what it is leaves something to be desired.
