Summary:

The world of Shin Getter is a very unhappy place by comparison to the much much happier realm of the original Getter. Doctor Saotome, the Getter Robo's creator, is launching his own war against the world with an army of Getter Robo G's (yeah, there are quite a few Getter's). To combat this, the aid of Ryoma, the Getter Robo's lead pilot, is required. However, Ryoma is imprisoned for having already once killed Saotome. What? Confused? I was too. Well, the human race is nearly vaporised and a new Getter, along with new pilots and a director, come in to fight in this dangerous new world. By the way, this is only episode 4 now. And all I'm going to tell you about the rest of the series is that the laws of physics are thrown completely out of the window.

Explanation for Rating:

Nyushram:
4 out of 5. Why? Well, there's the whole fact that there were two directors for this ova, one that handled the first 3 eps and then another that took care of the last 10. This is why the series almost makes no sense. It is definitely still very enjoyable otherwise. The animation is great, thanks to its ova status. I can't exactly say anything for music, I never really focused on that. All the character and mech designs are rugedly sleek. They look good, but come on, Ryoma can never be the kind of guy you'd let babysit children (though I bet they'd be the safest kids if aliens attacked.) Oh, and don't go expecting character development, if you want that, you go someplace else, cause Shin won't have any of it. Battles are great, transformations are Getterific (yeah new word.) Well how bout that missing point eh what? The change of directors doesn't help at all, and that would really be my biggest gripe cause it almost starts off as an alternate universe story, but then it gains the opportunity to go the route of, "After the main Getter Team retires, these young wipper-snappers take over!" This is the biggest problem, a confusing super robot series shouldn't exist because of their need to be simple (not always simple so don't go assaulting me with how other super robots aren't..... granted there are more of my kind out there other than Spirit.) If you're a fan of the 'ol super robots then you can't miss this. If you aren't a fan of the 'ol super robot series, then you can probably skip this, but shame on you.
