Summary: The main character, Ranma, returns from a journey to China where he trained with his father in the area of Jusenkyo, Cursed Springs. At the cursed springs Ranma fell into the Cursed Spring of Drowned Woman. Now everytime Ranma touches cold water he becomes a girl. Ranma's father, Genma, fell into the cursed spring of drowned panda. Ranma's father and his friend are the only successors to a martial arts style called Anything-Goes. To keep the martial arts style alive, Genma must marry his only son off to one of his friend's daughters. Needless to say, Ranma doesn't like the idea of being forced into marriage. His fiance-to-be is Akane. Seen as a tomboy, a terrible cook, and a short temper, she appears to be the worst choice for a wife. As the series progresses, however, the two get closer and closer...kinda.

Explanation for Rating: Adoogen: I give Ranma a 5 because the first four seasons are amazing. Easily one of my favorite series. The reason I wanted to drop a .5 is because the remaining seasons as they tend to drag on and they don't follow the manga too closely, but the first four seasons are just so good.
