Summary:

The Earth, Moon, and our Martian colonies are under alien attack, and our space fleets are powerless to stop the invasion. OK, let's get something straight: I'm biased. I love Nadesico. It has everything: Giant robots, conspiracies, love triangles, epic battlecruiser combat, humor, and even a few tear-jerking moments. But, Adoogen has asked me to be objective. I hate him for that, because I really wanted to give Nadesico 5 Trigun kitties.

Nadesico has some amazing content. I enjoyed every minute of the show...except for one part early on, but we won't go into that. Even the recap episode and the beauty contest are good, despite the fact that both are spoofs of a cliché episode that usually suck. Now that's hard to pull off.

However, as I said, I have to be objective. The show has at least one glaring flaw: the plot. One thing Nadesico can't escape is that it is a parody, and while the plot does have a few surprises, there's not much you haven't seen before. Be prepared to know what's going to happen 10 episodes before it does. The other downside is that the ending has no resolution whatsoever. In fact, it even brings in some new story elements to not even mention, much less explain n the movie.

In any case: while I can't say the show's for everyone (curse you objectivity!), I can say that Nadesico is a must-see for fans of Gundam, Macross, Love Hina, Tenchi Muyo, and the like shows. It's a "should at least check out" for everyone else. As for that small minority that doesn't like this show. I hate you. But if you're one of those people I probably already hated you for something else.
