Summary:

Onizuka Eikichi, 22 years old, doesn't have much direction with his life. A former gang leader, he spends his days lazing around doing odd jobs. He suddenly has the desire to be a teacher and not just any teacher but Great Teacher Onizuka. Having no credentials and graduating from a terrible college, he doesn't have much going for him. Luckily for him, he gets picked up by a private school that is interested in his "methods" of teaching. Onizuka may be a poor teacher when it comes to studies, but when teaching the students about life, as cheesy as that sounds, he is the best. Most of the episodes focus around how his students try and attack him and how he counters it and persuades them to be on his side. Definitely an anime/manga that pushes the limit.

Explanation for Rating:

Adoogen:
The manga is amazing, I can't wait for each one to come out (if anyone knows another way I can get them past what is being released, e-mail me). The anime follows kind of close to what the manga says, but when it deviates that's when the anime starts to stink. The anime is ok, but the manga just has more character development in my opinion and it's a little bit more uncensored :D

Gammler:
I still haven't seen/read past Urumi Kanzaki, so the only main Manga/Anime difference I've seen is the beginning. Either way, GTO is an amazing story. I can't really say what exactly makes it so great, but a big part is definitely that Onizuka is such a lovable character. He's my hero.
