Summary: In the future computer technology has advanced to a point where personal computers are given human form, mainly a girl a form, and they walk around on their own two feet runnining everything from Notepad to staying on the internet (they're called Persocons). The main character, Hideki Motosuwa, is a poor student who failed his college entrance exams. So he decides to move into the big city and take an exam class so he doesn't fail next time. Having lived on a farm, seeing these new computers walking around confused him but he quickly decided to get one for himself (one of his main reasons was to use it to find porn on the 'net). But he finds out he can't afford one. Luckily for him, as he walks home one night he finds one on the ground and he decides to take it home (don't try this at home, kids). However, his new find doesn't seem to be like the others he's heard about. She doesn't seem to have any operating system at all, and only says "Chii". He finds that she is not of any known type, and most likely some sort of homemade model. He also learns of the rumor of the "Chobits", Persocons with the ability to think for themselves, instead of running only complex programs.

Explanation for Rating: Adoogen: It was tough for me to give Chobits anime a 3. The beginning episodes were my favorite, Chii was at her best then I think. Then there was a period of at least five episodes where they were crappy filler episodes. Another anime that could have been shortened to 13 episodes and still get the story out. The manga isn't A LOT better but it's definitely better, still a very good series. I love the opening theme, as anyone on this site can tell you.
