Maybe it's just me but he stays a spineless wimp the whole series, he does develop a little social life through the series, but not enough to make up for his whiny life.

COMMENTS

The only child of Gendou and Yui Ikari but stayed with a teacher's house before he was called by his father (in the comic it was Yui's brother who took care of him) The very first time he was happy was when his father praised him for performing well in defeating Sahaquiel, the 10th Angel. He resigned from Nerv twice but on the 3rd time he went back to Nerv to pilot Eva-01, it was his decision to do so, the very first time he did anything he really wanted. He lost the will to live after he killed his best friend Kaworu Nagisa, but has no courage to take his own life. He discovered that Rei Ayanami is part clone of his mother and avoided her as much as possible after finding it out. He masturbated in front of Soryu Asuka Langley in the movie: REBIRTH when Asuka was suffering from shock in the hospital, if that isn't the wierdest thing I've ever heard, I dunno what is.
